Progress... sort of

We heard from our social worker last Friday afternoon and tentatively scheduled our appointments with her for the first week in June. We were going to confirm the dates and times with her on Monday (yesterday) after I had a chance to double-check the dates with Jeff.

Yesterday, we tried to call a couple of times but she was out of the office. I sent an email last night just to let her know that we had followed through with our intention to contact her. So, we're still waiting to firm up the dates and times, but tentatively we will go to the CHI office on either June 3 or June 4 for an evening appointment (which is nice since we are currently both working), and then she will come to our home on June 7 (also nice that she is willing to come on a Saturday).

It feels a little like an "inspection" (which I suppose it is) and I'm a little nervous about it, but we're also eager to have these appointments because we are hopeful that we can then get a bit more information about what the next steps in the process will be like, guesses at timelines, more info about waiting children they know about, etc. I think it will feel like we've overcome a big hurdle once these meetings are done.

Meanwhile, maybe I should call her again? ;-)
